Ministry Commission

The Church of the Brethren Annual Conference has assigned responsibility for credentialing set apart ministry to the districts.  This responsibility is carried out by the Ministry Commission.  Interviews with those who are feeling a call to ministry and wish to be licensed are held as well as with those who have completed their educational requirements and wish to be considered for ordination.  The commission also oversees the Training for Ministry program and assists licensed ministers in moving forward with training and education.  Other issues related to ministry, including continuing education, are responsibilities of this commission.

Financial Assistance for Continuing Education

The Southern Ohio District offers assistance to our pastors for continuing education. This comes in the form of a partnership between the pastor, their congregation, and the District where each pays 1/3 of the cost of the course. Courses will need to meet the standards set forth in the Guidelines for Continuing Education which were adopted by Annual Conference in 2002. Click here to download the Application for Assistance
